Customer Spotlight! Meet Alicia!

I would like to take a moment to shine a light on and extend a big thank you to our customer Alicia W. Alicia recently started her own YouTube Channel to help others with hair loss and I asked her if she would be open to introducing herself on our blog and she was kind enough to say yes and provide a little bit about her journey with hair loss. Meet Alicia!

 

"I just want to share a little bit of my hair loss journey with you. I started wearing wigs 1 year ago this month. I never dreamed that the time would come when I would be shopping for wigs. I started noticing in the last 5 years that my hair was really thinning. It got to the point where my crown was going bald. I tried everything to continue to fix my hair. I tried covering up the bald spots by teasing, every kind of hair product you can imagine but nothing was working. It was so frustrating. 

 

 

I've been dying my hair for many, many years years. I just turned 60 and my hair is gray and white. It has been such a chore to try to keep my hair dyed. Between my roots growing out white and my hair thinning so bad, I was just fighting a losing battle. The truth is, I don't even know how it happened. One day, I was trying to fix my hair, and nothing was working, and I had just had enough! I think I just had that moment where I was like, okay, I need help. I remember walking into my living room and typing in wigs on YouTube. I had no idea what to expect. That was the beginning of everything wonderful changing for me. I just decided I was going to go for it. I thought it couldn't hurt at this point.

 

All of these ladies popped up on YouTube reviewing wigs. I was watching Eileen at CrazyWigLady doing a review and she said how to purchase the wig she was wearing from Wig Studio One. That was it! I ordered my first wig and I have never looked back. I will be forever grateful to all of the reviewers for all of the time and effort that they put in to show us and teach us about wigs. I have become a loyal customer to Wig Studio One. It means everything to me to know that I am buying from a trusted retailer and I don't have to worry should I have any issues at all. One year later I am in such a good place. It was a learning experience for sure for the first few months, but now I wake up excited thinking which one am I going to wear today? Short, curly, long, red, brunette or maybe blonde! 

 

I do have a favorite and that is Henry Margu Avery in the color 10/613GR. We all search for that one piece that we feel was made for us and she's mine! I decided early on that I was going to be very transparent about wearing wigs to everyone I knew. I've learned in life that if you are the one that tells people your "secret " it seems to take the power from them for any ridicule or judgment. Honestly I don't think people are as worried about our hair choice as we think they are. I understand this is not everyone's experience, but I think it's true in most cases. If you own your decision to wear alternative hair, I think most people will support you. Have fun with it!
