Starly by Tony of Beverly | Synthetic Lace Front Wig | Basic Cap

Having seen the wig reviewers say how great Starly was, I was looking forward to receiving mine. However, I was so disappointed when it did. It has a really nasty nest of permatease visible at the crown and looks as if someone who doesn’t know what they are doing has cut the permatease leaving short spikes all over the top. I’ve done my best with it trying to work it smooth. What a faff. Also it seems very thin and the wefting is easily seen. My first and last Tony of Beverly wig, especially as I had to source this from the US. I truly wish that you middle men wig suppliers would check out the wigs before dispatch. Returns are either impossible or difficult meaning it seems, a perfect excuse for wig manufacturers and suppliers to get away with delivering poor quality. Disappointing.

Starly is cute. She reminds me of a shorter, more manageable version of Jones. I purchased the color Warmth that is a mix of a neutral medium/light brown with blended gold blonde highlights, similar but not the same as 9/24SS IN Raquel Welch. Starly has lots of layers, a full swept bang, and waves. She’s a casual throw and go style, kind of a shag but also a bob. I bought Starly for weekend wear when I need an unfussy style for errands and getting together with friends. I have a petite average head that does best in average caps. Starly had a large circumference that I took all the way in.

However, the color contrast was too pronounced for my liking. I hope to get better at assessing all the features prior to ordering. Meanwhile, thank you for your generous policies that allow me the opportunity to do so

I love this style. It is so soft and adds fullness to my face as I have a thin one. I have purchased this wig 4 times, in different colors. My observation is that with each purchase there were imperfections with each one. One had that nesty look in the crown, one had the lace front that did not lie smoothly across the forehead, one had too much forward falling hair that you could not manage, even with heat. So, yes this style is fantastic, but a lot of inconsistencies in the production process. If they could get that under control, this would be a 5 star product. As it stands now, it will be hit and miss with what you receive, so be aware.

Why bother to put a lace front on a wig that has a lot of visible , nesty permatease all over the top ?! I really hope I received a defective wig because it looked terrible and was returned. I own an Arya by Tony of Beverly and it looks great and has no permatease. Sadly, I doubt if I will try this brand again.
