Care Instructions

We recommend washing your wig every 6-8 wears.

 CLEANSING & CONDITIONING YOUR WIG

  • Before washing your wig or topper, gently remove any tangles with your wide tooth comb.

  • Hold wig or topper under cool running water. Then, gently lather the hair with a capful of shampoo specifically designed for synthetic hair, while making sure that the hair is traveling in the same direction. Do not rub hair as this may cause tangling

  • Rinse wig or topper thoroughly in cool water until the water runs clear

  • Wrap wig or hair piece in a towel and gently pat dry

  • Gently detangle hair using a conditioning spray specifically formulated for synthetic hair on the ends and a wide tooth comb. Keep the conditioner away from the base of the wig or topper.

DRYING & STYLING YOUR WIG

  • Allow your wig or topper to air dry naturally by placing it on a plastic or wire wig stand. Do not blow dry your synthetic wig.

  • To style, simply use your fingertips or wig brush/comb for your desired style.

  • Do not use any heat tools, such as curling irons, flat irons or blow dryers, to style your synthetic fiber wig or topper, unless it specifically states that the fibers are heat friendly synthetic or human hair.

TIPS

  • Be cautious when standing near a heat source (i.e. open oven, heater, etc.) Excessive heat can damage the synthetic fiber of your wig or topper.

  • We recommend using a detangling spray and a wide tooth comb to detangle your synthetic wig. This is especially important with the mid-length to long length wigs.

I got this at Christmas

"I got this at Christmas time but never tried it on. I nkow it needs some work, and I need to find my sylist so we can make this work wonderfully. I just took it out of the box and tried to make it look nice with my fingers, but I think it needs some more work."

Favorite wig!

"It’s natural looking on me, just the right amount of hair. It’s my favorite wig and I have about 10 wigs so far. My only complaint is that I wish the cap size was a little bit bigger."

Took a minute to love it!

"Once I got the part to my liking I love this style. Cute and bouncy."

I’m a redhead again and it feels spectacular!

"This is the first new Soft and Subtle I’ve ever bought (I’ve owned one or two used ones in the past). I’ve been striking out lately with finding some new wigs that would suit my needs (non-HF, slightly larger fitting, short- to mid-length wavy bob). I went back to something not only tried and true, but a little less expensive than my usual favorite hand-tied wavy bobs. Soft and Subtle strikes a good balance day-to-night wig, just casual enough and with a tweak here and there, can look very elegant on me. I did take a gamble on some auburns. I sent back a Dark Auburn, which oddly enough, didn’t work for me this time. I also got one in SS Rusty Auburn. I struck out on Rusty Auburn a few years ago, but I thought maybe having a rooted version would offset this wig looking too washed-out on me. And…wow. (The first picture is S&S just out of the box, with a good shake to loosen the fiber. The one on the right is after I messed around with her, at a holiday even with one of my closest friends, who really liked my hair that day. ) After some heavy shaking about, as well as wrangling the fibers with light water mists and some Wig Wax, I got S&S to where I like her. I fixed the part just a little bit, too, so I got more of that side bang. She fits a bit big in the circumference, but the adjusters take care of that. The ear tabs cover just right, but I still tape those down for security. I feel very beautiful in this wig, and I plan on buying one or two more in the coming weeks."

Q&A

I bought Soft and Subtle from WigStudio1 a few weeks ago. I had wispy bangs cut into it, and I think it's still a bit small so I'm trying to figure out the best way to secure it without using adhesives. Anyway, should I go ahead and give it a wash to help "de-shine" it? I know that everyone says to try a dry shampoo so I bought some Jon Renau. I just figured a "first wash" might get the initial synthetic coating to dull down.
Hi Cynthia! Thank you for your question. For securing your piece, you can use a wig grip if you prefer that over adhesive. If it is a little snug on you, you can wet the perimeter of the cap with water and put it on a canvas block head to stretch it a bit while it dries. Dry shampoo does help with shine and provides texture, but if that is not enough, a wash should remove any additional shine. Please feel free to email us at support@wigstudio1.com for additional assistance. We are happy to help! xo Andrea
