Synthetic fiber can tangle or frizz over time, especially at the nape and on mid-length and long styles, where hair rubs against collars, scarves and car seats. To keep it smooth:
Regular synthetic fiber is sensitive to heat. Be cautious near open ovens, grills, heaters, dishwashers and steam, and when lighting candles or fireplaces. A sudden blast of heat can frizz or melt the fiber in seconds, and the damage can't be reversed.
Signs it's time for a new wig include frizz at the ends that won't comb out, a dry or dull texture, thinning at the nape or a stretched cap. Rotating between two wigs helps each one last longer.
You'll need a synthetic wig shampoo and conditioner, a detangling spray, a wide tooth comb and a wig stand. Shop wig care products for synthetic hair.
It's best not to. Sleeping in a wig causes friction and tangling, and shower heat and steam can damage the fiber. Remove your wig and place it on a stand overnight.
Frizz is usually caused by friction against clothing or by exposure to heat. Detangle daily, reduce friction at the nape and keep the wig away from heat sources. Regular synthetic frizz can't be smoothed with heat, so prevention is key.

It's best not to. Regular shampoos can strip and dull synthetic fiber. Use products made specifically for synthetic wigs.

"I’m new. Chemo. I have purchased around 9 wigs, returned 4 of them. This one - THIS ONE is the best so far! Fits well, looks beautiful and natural. It’s the first one I am brave enough to go out in. I will buy another one in a lighter color for spring 2026. I’m pretty much a petite and this one is the first that’s actually comfortable - doesn’t ride up or have a lot of extra bulk. "Very disappointed and unfortunately stuck with it. I had tried on the exact style and color at a local store but unfortunately that one sold. The one I tried on at a local shop had nice pops of highlight on the sides of my face which were very flattering from the moment I put it on. However, the wig I received had very bright “highlight” covering the entire bang area! So when a person sees you, all they really notice are the bright bangs and not the person. It is not flattering at all. Definitely not the look I tried on in a local wig shop. I don’t know if this is defective or if the placement of the highlights would vary that much between wigs but it looks awful. I don’t think anyone would highlight their hair that way. It’s definitely not attractive. The bangs are also very flat to my forehead which just looks like a really bad hair day. To make matters worse, I removed the tag when I put it on making it not eligible for return. The tag is still on the string, not torn or cut. I was so excited to receive this wig. I just removed the tag and tried it on without reading the return policy first, so that expensive mistake is on me. Don’t remove the tag to try it on! I do have to say that I received the wig within a few days after ordering and I was very happy about that."
