Jon Renau Synthetic Hair Care

WE RECOMMEND WASHING YOUR ALTERNATIVE HAIR EVERY 8-10 WEARS

CLEANSE & CONDITION

  • Before washing your wig or hairpiece, gently remove any tangles using your Wide Tooth Comb
  • Wet hair completely using cool running water
  • Gently lather the hair with a small amount of Jon Renau Fiber Love Wig Shampoo, making sure that the hair is traveling in the same direction. Do not rub hair as this may cause tangling
  • Rinse thoroughly under cool running water until water runs clear
  • Wrap wig or hairpiece in a towel and gently pat dry
  • Spray with Jon Renau Fiber Love Conditioning Spray (3-5 pumps) keeping away from base of wig or hairpiece. Do not rinse out conditioner
  • Gently detangle hair using your Wide Tooth Comb

DRY & STYLE

  • Allow wig or hairpiece to air dry naturally by placing on a plastic or wire wig stand. DO NOT blow dry
  • For mid-length to long length styles, apply HD Smooth Detangling Spray, (3-5 pumps) focusing on bottom half of wig or hairpiece. Gently comb through using your Wide Tooth Comb
  • We recommend using your fingertips or wig brush/comb for your desired style
  • Do NOT use heat to style traditional synthetic fiber (curling irons, flat irons or blow dryers). The only wigs or toppers that can be styled with heat must be designed with specific heat friendly synthetic fibers or with human hair.

TIPS

  • Be cautious when standing near a heat source (i.e. open oven, heater, etc.) Excessive heat can damage the fiber
  • We recommend using HD Smooth Detangling Spray with a wide tooth comb to detangle your synthetic wig. This is especially important with a mid-length to long length wig or hairpiece

Cute style!

"I have a large circ (24”) and this large cap wig fits comfortably around my head. I have smaller e2e and f2b measurements, so I may try to alter it by sewing some wefts together to make it less baggy. I also bought and used the Milano wig grip to help keep the wig on well so it doesn’t slip. I wore it out this past weekend and felt a bit self-conscious because my bio hair is so thin and recessed at the front. Husband started to get used to it throughout the day. The lace front looks really nice. I think I may have the front thinned out a bit because it seems so dense, but then I’m not sure if it really is too much hair or perhaps I’m just not used to how my hair used to be years ago. I think I had the wig a tad too far back on my forehead, I’ve got to get used to positioning it better too. The color is great for me (6/30 I think), like my bio hair. This is my first wavy helper hair, so caring for this one will be a little different so I can keep the waves in tact."

Q&A

Is Scarlett steam or heat friendly?
Hi Joyce! Scarlett by all manufacturers (Jon Renau, Envy and Henry Margu) is designed with traditional synthetic fibers and is not heat friendly, but you can use steam on this piece if you'd like. Steam works great on traditional synthetic to help soften and restore the fibers. All the best, Andrea
